Job Description:
About the Role:
The PLC/Electrical Technician at South Beloit plant supports the maintenance department in our 2nd shift. This position has an hourly rate of $45.59 p/hr. and a shift differential of $.75 The PLC Tech is responsible for performing duties to diagnose repair and modify process machinery and support equipment requiring broad electrical knowledge and skills. Youll add value to this role by performing various functions including but not limited to:
- Design upgrade repair program and troubleshoot controls for machinery and equipment used in processing packaging storage or plant utility.
- Perform various activities relative to the installation automation and integration of new or relocated machinery.
- Advise contractors management maintenance personnel and operators on machine operation and control issues.
- Installation and maintenance of programming software on department laptop. Backup and archiving of all automation files.
- Proven proficiency in application programming and wiring of PLCs HMIs VFDs and Servos preferably Allen Bradley.
- Experience and technical expertise in electrical wiring and power distribution.
- Familiarity with NEC and NFP70E
- Troubleshooting experience with relay logic and threephase contactors up to 480v.
- Strong electrical drawing interpretation skills used to troubleshoot and modify equipment.
Important Details:
This is a fulltime permanent role on our 2nd shift which operates from 2:30pm to 11:00p.m. Monday through Friday with some Saturdays.
About You:
Youll fit right in if you have:
- Knowledge of typical industrial control sensors devices systems and networks.
- Willingness and ability to accurately markup revisions to electrical drawings.
- Comfortable with use of multimeter and various other test instruments.
- Ability to work required shift while also being oncall for breakdown work or phone support during night and weekend hours.
- Skilled with MS Outlook MS Excel Worksheet and MS Word which are company standard platforms.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
