Job Description

Are you looking for an engineering internship for the summer We have an opportunity where you can learn grow and gain handson experience professional development and networking opportunities at an industry leading company. Knape & Vogt is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team starting in the summer semester right here in Grand Rapids!

Company Overview:

Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company is a 125yearold company based in Grand Rapids. We are a global leader specializing in the design manufacture and distribution of functional hardware office and healthcare ergonomics and storagerelated components for original equipment manufacturers specialty distributors hardware chains and major home centers.

What You Will Get to Do:
Work collaboratively with the Engineering team by assisting with a variety of manufacturing processes including:

  • Identifying and implementing new and innovative manufacturing processes
  • Resolving processrelated inefficiencies and championing process improvement project
  • Troubleshooting of a product and perform rootcause analysis
  • Analysis of statistical process analysis on new and existing products
  • Providing process engineering and support of existing processes
  • Performing assignments that have moderately complex objectives and require the investigation of multiple variables
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering with at least two 2 years of completed college/university study and a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD or similar modeling software
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and general understanding of engineering drawings and ability to interpret them
  • Ability to manage and drive projects to completion
