Compensation

At S&C we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States can be found in the JOB INFO section below. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors including performance knowledge jobrelated skills and experience and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&Cs annual incentive plan (AIP) subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Mechanical Engineer!

The S&C Early Talent Program is intended to provide early career professionals with a rich development experience across S&Cs Product Development organization.Rotations typically last for 18 to 24 months after which time the individual is placed in a permanent position.Participants will contribute to S&Cs product development organization while learning foundational engineering skills developing a baseline understanding of S&C products and understanding internal processes and workflows.

The Product Development and Technology & Breakthrough Innovation (TBI) organizations are responsible for the new product development product engineering/sustaining engineering functions and new concepts and technology developmentat S&C. The program provides an excellent opportunity to become a wellrounded professional with varied experience widely soughtafter skills and great prospects for future success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate on teams developing new products and product feature extensions
  • of mechanical highvoltage and highpower testing per relevant standards onnew and existing product designs
  • Preparation of necessary design models drawings and requests to create test vehicles
  • Definition of device and system test requirements as well as preparation of test samples
  • Travel to outside labs customer and supplier facilities
  • Analysisof highvoltage electrical components and electrical circuits
  • Creation of conceptual and prototype mechanical systems using 3D CAD software
  • Participation in formal problemsolving events as well asFailure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) events
  • Providing superiorengineering support for internal and external customers including production related issues
  • Investigation and detailed written engineering analysis of equipment returned by customers
  • Supporting lifecycle product management and product marketing activities
  • Participating in voice of the customer (VOC) engagement activities to understand existing problems and emerging requirements including customer visits and presentations
  • Presentation of significant findings orally and in writing to senior management and engineers throughout the company

What youll Need To Succeed:

Job Requirements (To select this job at a minimum you must have the following):

  • BS degree in mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency in the use of 3D design software (Solid Edge or equivalent)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills written and spoken to clearly present ideas in a variety of forums
  • Desire to work handson in a fastpaced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate successfully bothindependently and as part of a largerengineering team

  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting infrequent lifting of up to 35 pounds
  • Walking: Occasional walking throughout the facility
  • Carrying: Occasional carrying of light objects for short distances

  • Pulling: Infrequent use of manual hand truck to move item.
  • Bending: Occasional bending
  • Reaching:Occasional reaching
  • Handling: Occasional handling of parts or tools
  • Environment: Standard office/ desktop workspace; occasional laboratory and manufacturing areas
