About the Opportunity

As part of the Allied Health Expansion Program in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Tasmania we are looking to appoint a Lecturer and a Senior Lecturer or an Associate Professor in Speech Pathology to teach into our Masters of Speech Pathology Program and interprofessional units.

We are looking for teamoriented and innovative staff members who are committed to creating and delivering engaging learning experiences that prepare our graduates for the workforce.

Our priorities for these positions are 1 paediatric speech language and communication and 2 coordination of professional experience placement.

Lecturer in Speech Pathology:In this role you will teach into our exciting integrated curriculum leading and delivering speech pathology and interprofessional learning activities. You will contribute to the clinical speech pathology opportunities within the Universitys health training sites. While the position includes a research portfolio the main emphasis will be on teaching and clinical practice.

Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Speech Pathology:Your primary focus will be providing highquality education in Speech Pathology ensuring students receive comprehensive and uptodate training. Youll collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to lead and participate in interprofessional learning activities contribute to the clinical speech pathology opportunities within the Universitys health training sites and foster and maintain relevant relationships with external partners to enhance the Universitys impact and reach. Additionally you will incorporate a research portfolio contributing to the advancement of knowledge in your field.

Whats Required

  • Clinical expertise with recency or currency in speech pathology practice.
  • Demonstrated achievement in University level curriculum development using flexible and innovative blended learning & teaching andragogy employing practical demonstration simulationbased education and digital technologies.
  • Evident or demonstrated experience delivering high quality coursework learning & teaching including unit coordination quality assurance reviews and best practice assessment targeted to course learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating quality workintegrated learning (WIL) experience for students that has scaffolded connected and supported pedagogical experience.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with a record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline profession industry and the wider community.
  • Commitment to impactful research that makes a worthwhile contribution to the field of allied health demonstrated by a record of quality publications presentations at conferences and translating evidence to practice and/or curriculum.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the professional development of self and activities supporting the allied health professions.

Qualifications and Licenses

Lecturer Academic Level B

  • Eligible for Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
  • Completion of a Master or PhD degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Clinical expertise with recency or currency in speech pathology practice.

Senior Lecture/ Associate Professor Academic Level C or D

  • Eligible for Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Clinical expertise with recency or currency in speech pathology practice.

Salary details

Appointment to these roles will be at Academic Level B/C/D and will have a total remuneration package of up to $ 203695 comprising base salary within the range of $110992 to $174098 plus 17 superannuation. Relocation support may be offered to the ideal candidate.
