Shape the future of Design Systems at NAB
As the Director Design Systems you will:
- Drive the overall vision and of the Elevate Design System ensuring a seamless and scalable experience across our digital channels and hold accountability for the design and of the Elevate Design System
- Deliver a unified design experience to help execute outstanding customer experiences
- Partners with the business Technology groups and vendors and other CX functions to drive strategy and identifies opportunities to create closer connections with our customers.
- Provide inspiration leadership and career development for NABs design practitioners particularly with a focus on Design Systems
- You will be deeply embedded in complex problemsolving balancing customer needs business requirements and regulatory considerations to create an intuitive and effective experience

What youll do
- Define and drive the strategic direction of Elevate Design System partnering understanding of Group business requirements strategies and priorities to enable translation into strategies and operations plans
- Sponsor and gain leadership team approval for strategic outcomes and achieve results with the Elevate team.
- Contribute directly to the strategic direction nab.design Leadership Chapter. Ensure the maximum value is derived from our Global position in the market
- Act as an advocate for the nab.design Chapter via your Design System expertise ensuring that Business Units are engaged to align their business needs with the group
- Lead and motivate the team including role modelling behaviours coaching mentoring performance management and the identification of training and development needs
- Contribute to and leverage NABs new design system ensuring consistency and scalability across digital experiences.
- Communicate design decisions effectively using visuals and storytelling to influence stakeholders and drive alignment.
- Work within a strong design communitysharing critiquing and growing alongside a team of talented designers.
What youll bring
- Demonstrated experience working as a Design Systems expert ideally working in complex industries such as banking finance fintech insurance or trading.
- Strong UX/UI skills with a keen eye for visual design typography and layout. You bring good taste and know how to create polished highquality work.
- Experience designing for complex systems where multiple user types and workflows need to be considered.
- A natural ability to communicate aligning stakeholders across business and technology teams to drive great design outcomes.
- Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with design systems ensuring scalable and maintainable designs.
- Curiosity and problemsolving skillsyou dont just execute you think critically about how to improve experiences and challenge assumptions.
