DevOps Engineer II Flight Simulation (Onsite)

This position requires an active US security clearance. Most aspects of the job are done in a classified lab environment and this position requires a daily onsite presence.This position is located onsite at our Sterling VA site. Eligible for relocation assistance.

What YOU will do:

  • Support and develop automation solutions that enable our teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently.
  • Use troubleshooting skills to resolve issues with build chain or CI/CD pipeline tools.
  • Consider the organizations entire CI/CD infrastructure when making changes and improvements.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree (typically in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience OR In absence of a degree 6 years of relevant experience is required
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance or higher is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Skills you must have:

  • Deployment configuration testing and support of CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Common software development and management tools such as GitLab Jira Confluence Coverity Nexus Artifactory and Splunk.
  • Automation frameworks such as Ansible Terraform Puppet etc.
  • Virtual environments such as VMware Proxmox etc.

Skills we value:

  • Highly motivated selfstarter who can work as part of a high performing team.
  • Experience with serverside scripting languages such as Python Bash and PowerShell.
  • Experience with continuous integration for realtime testing and diagnostics within a virtualized environment.
  • Experience in application development and integration within one or more IaaS/PaaS (Red Hat OpenShift / VMware / OpenStack).
  • Experience in microservices using RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with L2 and L3 networking technologies.
  • Familiarity with Docker/ Podman containers or Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Familiarity with JSON XML YAML and XSD formats rules and usages.
  • Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience and/or interest in refactoring legacy systems for cloudor virtual environments.
  • Experience using development IDEs such as Visual Studio Visual Studio Code or other related.
  • Experience with C/C/C# programming languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements streamline activities and develop efficiencies.
  • Security Certification such as Security CISSP or equivalent.
  • Experience in application development and integration within one or more cloud platform services such as (Amazon Web Services Microsoft Azure Google Cloud VMware Cloud).
  • Familiarity with Agile Development Methodologies (e.g. Scrum SAFe).

The salary range for this role is 72000 USD 144000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

This role is a U.S.based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
