Reporting to Master Payroll the incumbent is responsible for preparing and processing payrolls for all employees within the company.
- Performs data changes in employee files to prepare for the next payroll and registers new employees;
- Calculates notice amounts for employees;
- Acts as an interface between the electronic punch and the payroll software;
- Verifies transactions before payroll transmission;
- Sends pay stubs to each region;
- Keeps the government remittance table up to date;
- Ensures that cheques are issued for the remittance of seizures and/or other items.
- Finalize Records of Employment on the Service Canada payroll system;
- Completes enquiries for Service Canada the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Qubec;
- Prepares different reports by the report builder as requested;
- Delivery of seizures;
- Participate in the end of the year and in the preparation of the T4s;
- Answers specific questions from accounting;
- Classifies various documents;
- Performs all other tasks at the request of his/her immediate supervisor.
Qualifications :
- Has 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the payroll department;
- Experience completing a full payroll cycle;
- Good knowledge of MS Excel;
- Thoroughness and discretion are required for the position;
- Person with ease of communication;
- Knowledge of Nethris Internet Suite and/or Dayforce payroll system (an asset) and electronic punch;
- Bilingualism required (French and English);
- Being a member of the CPA is an asset.
