Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title: Physician Obstetrics/Gynecology

Job Type: Locum Tenens

Location: Burlington NC

Service Setting: Acute Care Hospital

Coverage Type: Call Only

Coverage Period: May 1 2025 Ongoing

OnCall Shift Schedule: 24hour shifts 8:00 AM 8:00 AM): Mostly Wed Thurs 1 2 call shifts per week; 1 2 weekends/month

Call Type: Beeper

PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient Demographics: Adolescents Adults Geriatrics (ages 16 65

Patient Volume/Census: Low; approximately 450 births/year

Admissions: Yes

Phone Consults: Yes

Case Mix: Labor & Delivery Postpartum Emergency Room coverage backup to CNMs

FACILITY INFORMATION

EMR System: Epic (Experience Required)

Specialty Backup Available: CNM team onsite

Support Staff Available: Not clinicbased

Reason for Coverage: Locum coverage needed for OB/GYN service

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

Temporary Privileges Available: Yes

Credentialing Timeline: 60 90 days

Emergency Room OB/GYN Coverage

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses: Active North Carolina license required

Certifications: Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology; DEA required

Experience: Minimum 3 years in OB/GYN; experience with CNMs preferred

Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide 24hour call coverage for Labor & Delivery Postpartum and OB/GYN ER cases

Serve as backup for Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs)

Respond promptly to emergency OB situations

Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure safe highquality patient care

Maintain accurate and timely charting in Epic
