Position Summary

The Volunteer Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the organizations volunteer program by overseeing the recruitment initial phases of onboarding and overall management of volunteers. This position requires a dynamic leader who is outgoing and shares a passion for community service. The volunteer coordinator will demonstrate ability to cultivate relationships with diverse groups of people. The ideal candidate will be highly selfmotivated organized communityoriented and creative.


Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Training Department to implement training programs for volunteers to ensure they are wellprepared and informed.
  • Lead recruitment initiatives that are centered on attracting new volunteers and interns by fostering partnerships with local educational institutions.
  • Manage volunteer database to track volunteer activities and engagement.
  • Lead efforts in recruiting volunteers through various channels including social media platforms community events and outreach programs.
  • Collaborate with program directors to coordinate volunteer schedules.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment for volunteers and interns by providing ongoing support feedback and recognition.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities within the organization.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer programs making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse group of volunteers and interns.


Requirements

Education

  • Associates Degree required
  • Bachelors Degree in Communications Human Services Business Administration preferred
Experience
  • at least 12 years of proven experience in volunteer or internship management or related experience required
  • 12 years of proven experience demonstrating a strong commitment to community service preferred
