Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of behavioral health principles effective counseling techniques and a commitment to helping clients achieve recovery. You will work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans facilitate group therapy sessions and provide ongoing support throughout their recovery journey.


Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic counseling to individuals struggling with chemical dependency using a biopsychosocial approach.
  • Educate patients and families about the disease process of chemical dependency.
  • Lead group discussions work oneonone with patients and assign group activities for Mental Health Technicians.
  • Assess patient needs and recommend appropriate groups.
  • Complete billing charges/sheets daily.
  • Utilize historic and current data to assess patient needs and provide effective counseling.
  • Provide individual and group crisis intervention as well as family clinical interventions.
  • Act as a client advocate mediator and facilitator.


Requirements

  • Must be licensed by the Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.
  • LSW or LPC required.
  • Current licensure by the Chemical Dependency Professionals Board as a LCDC II III or LICDC.

The position reports to a highly professional and empathetic manager who holds high expectations for staff.
