Job Description
Key duties and responsibilities:
The role involves collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to enhance products by designing new features user flows interfaces and handling frontend development. You will work closely with colleagues to define userfocused designs iterating based on feedback to add value. Your responsibilities will include creating usercentric UI designs defining user flows building prototypes and developing highfidelity interfaces. You will also be responsible for conducting user experience evaluations to ensure usability and accessibility standards are met. In this role you will implement UI components using HTML CSS and JavaScript and collaborate with user researchers and designers to apply usability testing insights into interface improvements. You will advocate for usercentered design solutions work with developers to solve problems and provide guidance to backend engineers on usability and frontend development. As a UI Designer you will transform complex challenges into simple intuitive designs and communicate them through user flows wireframes and prototypes. As a Frontend Developer you will collaborate with developers to turn designs and wireframes into functional highquality code that ensures optimal usability and accessibility.
Required skills and experience include a strong background in implementing responsive UI components using HTML CSS ReactJS and/or Angular as well as experience with prototyping tools like Adobe XD Axure or Figma. A solid understanding of design principles systems and the application of WCAG 2.1 level AA guidelines is essential with knowledge of how design page structures and code impact accessibility.
Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in designing user interfaces while adhering to an existing style guide and/or design system utilising HTML CSS and JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS and/or Angular.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with and influence various stakeholders effectively conveying design decisions through wellreasoned explanations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with teams to translate usability testing findings into actionable improvements for user interfaces.
- Knowledge of and experience in implementing accessibility standards specifically the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at a minimum level AA.
- Demonstrated experience in designing wireframes user interfaces and interactive prototypes with a keen eye for detail along with the ability to prototype test quickly and refine designs.
- A tertiary qualification in a design or computer science/ICTrelated field (e.g. Human Factors Communication/Graphic Design Systems Design Psychology HumanComputer Interaction Web Development etc..
