MRI Technologist

The Diagnostic Imaging departments of Halton Healthcare take great pride in knowing we are providing a high quality and safe service within a patient and family centered environment. The MRI service has 3 MRI scanners. 

A rare gift that our department possesses is the caring and friendly atmosphere we share with patients and their families. Our staff work very closely together as an interprofessional team with the common goal of providing patients with a positive and memorable experience.

As an integral member of the Medical Imaging team to be responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures in accordance with departmental protocol and standards.  You will participate as a team member to ensure efficient and safe workflow.

• Performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals.
• Operating troubleshooting and ensuring that medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner.
• Preparing written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results; attendance at meetings as required.
• Assistance in preparation of manuscripts and grant applications data processing responsible for teaching training educational research safety and quality improvement programs/activities.
• Observing and understanding Hospital and departmental policies and procedures and designing imaging policies and procedures that will result in improvements in technical quality.
• Adhering to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Performing other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care and crossfunctional responsibilities as assigned or requested.

Qualifications :

• Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
• Completion of a recognized post diploma program in MRI or recognized equivalent with MRI certification
• Current RTMR certification BCLS and Level II: Basic Rescuer certification required
• Crosssectional Anatomy and Contrast injection course required
• Proficient with Word and using a computer
• Excellent problem recognition problem solving and organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage and to foster teamwork and cooperation.
