Description

As part of the Coherent internship program participation in our nationwide initiative extends beyond daily tasks. Your active engagement in all scheduled webinars activities communications and meetings is essential for a comprehensive and enriching internship experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in the design development and maintenance of thin film deposition processes on assigned projects; creates and reviews design documentation test proceduresBillsofMaterialsandmanufacturingworkinstructionswithassistance from Coating Engineering and Operations personnel.
  • Operatesprecisiontestequipmenttomeasureopticalpropertiesofthinfilm coatings.
  • Observesandreportstechnicalissuesastheyariseduringcoatingoperationswith assistance from Coating Engineering Quality and Operations personnel.
  • Troubleshootsproductqualityandproductionyieldproblemsandparticipatein corrective action teams.
  • Supports manufacturing operations to ensure products are delivered on time.
  • AssistsOperationspersonnelindevelopingdocumentingandimplementingnew equipment and new process maintenance procedures.

Education & Experience

  • CandidateshouldbepursuingaBSinEngineeringorrelateddisciplinepreferablyin Physics Optics Materials Science Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 03yearsworkingexperience;familiaritywithopticsand/orthinfilmcoating technologies and metrology preferred.
  • Local candidates preferred

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
  • Computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet software (MSOffice Suite)
  • Stronganalyticalfaultisolationandproblemsolvingskills.DOEandSOE experience strongly desired.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details required.
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
  • Ability to recommend and implement improvements

Working Conditions

  • Candidatewillbeinalabenvironmentwithmovingparts/machineryinteractwithsolvents/chemicals and will spend some percentage of the day on their feet
