Job Description
Our client ShelBar Electronic Industries Ltd a quickly growing industry leading Security Systems Integration company is looking for a Regional Security Inspector who will work directly with a large energy client. You will be based out of a client office in central or southwestern Ontario ideally Toronto or North York but it is flexible for the right person.
Who is our client They utilize an out of the box approach to their customers needs for design installation and integration security needs. Progressive and fastgrowing this electrical/security service company that takes great pride in providing their clients with professional trade experience. Their priority is clientfocused medium to large scale access control and video management systems.
Who are you A motivated attentive and hardworking candidate with security access control video management and audio visual experience. You will partly a Field Service Technician and System Administrator but also with providing security program application education. A strong balance between technical and program delivery is important. Your role is dedicated to supporting Genetec integration and service.
Salary: $100000 $125000 per year (depending upon experience)
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 8:00am 4:30pm (FullTime)
Typical day although start and end times may vary.
Travel:
This role will require regular travel across Ontario to inspect clients facilities and offices.
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting physical security equipment and performing minor maintenance or break & fix matters.
- Participating in the implementation of physical security assurance/awareness and program delivery for sites across Ontario.
- Scoping out projects to keep systems operating optimally while helping to transition other sites to Genetec. Both project design and scoping of systems.
- Completing Security Vulnerability Assessments and assist facilities with technical security challenges as needed.
- Write security reports related to incidents investigations or security activities and develop actions plans for additional followup as required.
- Perform basic hardware and software troubleshooting activities on access control CCTV intrusion alarm and intercom systems.
- Assists with testing of system components to ensure system completeness and convention.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining an approachable and professional demeanor while on the job.
- Demonstrate aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
- Program and test a variety of nonroutine security systems and equipment.
Requirements
- Advanced capabilities for troubleshooting audio setup and video setup with a strong understanding of both hardware and software.
- Ideally 10 years of experience in the physical security industry along with appropriate education or certification (may be some flexibility).
- The ability to balance field service system administration and provide security program application education.
- Genetec experience and/or certification is a strong asset.
- Working knowledge of IT network systems. Proficient with SQL and Windows OS.
- Selfmotivated work with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the capability of training others.
- Great time management skills with experience in prioritizing tasks in order of urgency.
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record.
- Ability to work alone as well as jointly as a team player with other technicians and trades.
- Must be able to pass a clean Criminal Record Background check.
