Job Description

A highly successful and wellestablished mixed comprehensive school in the vibrant Ealing area seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher for a fulltime permanent position commencing in September. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving Humanities department within a school committed to the academic and personal development of its students.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 covering a range of historical periods and topics in line with the national curriculum.
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities utilizing a variety of teaching resources and strategies including primary sources and historical interpretations.
  • Assess student progress through essays source analysis presentations and class participation providing timely and constructive feedback to support their learning.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching resources and schemes of work within the History department.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in History.
  • A good understanding of the secondary history curriculum and effective teaching methodologies including the use of historical sources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to bring historical events and figures to life for students.
  • A passion for history and the ability to foster critical thinking and analytical skills in learners.
