Job Description
Brief Overview:
The CCM Senior Estimator will report to the Chief Estimator and be accountable for preparing tender documents quantity takeoffs and cost estimates. The Senior Estimator will be accountable for leading a team to prepare tender documents quantity takeoffs and cost estimates to ensure projects are estimated in accordance with CCMs standards. The Senior Estimator will lead and create large valued estimates from start to finish for project pursuits and act as a mentor for Junior and Intermediate Estimators.
Responsibilities:
- Full accountability to lead and create estimate from start to finish for a project pursuit valued between 100 and 250 million dollars.
- Prepares and reviews technical reports and specifications.
- Understands the construction management process and is familiar with analyzing subcontractor proposals validating/ leveling scopes of work.
- Conceptual estimating from preliminary drawings through final cost analysis
- Reviews designs to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Risk management analyzes possible risks ability to identify problem areas missing details and gaps. Provides recommendations and solutions to risks & gaps.
- Maintains and updates company subcontractor database unit pricing database and project historical database.
- Understands fee pockets and how to maximize returns on every project.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Postsecondary education in Engineering/ Construction diploma/ degree along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Experience working with a variety of estimating software.
- Knowledge of Procurement Strategies
- Advanced understanding of scheduling and productivities.
- In depth knowledge and expertise in all aspects of cost consulting including project monitoring and cost planning.
- Ability to address issues proactively with team members.
- High quality accuracy of construction pricing
- Thorough understanding of the Provincial Lien act
- Knowledge of Master format specification divisions
- Strong Presentation Skills
- Ability to multitask and distribute work tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to lead mentor and coach a team.
- Advanced computer technical skills.
- Advanced communication skills to communicate and building relationships with external clients & trade partners.
