About the Position:
The Field Operations Manager manages the daytoday field operations of the Woodward Steel Group which includes overseeing Iron Worker Foremen and other Field personnel. The Field Operations Manager will attend various inhouse design estimating production coordination job site and endofjob critique meetings. In addition this individual must work closely with the Steel Office Manager. Lastly the Field Operations Manager is constantly looking for methods to improve production in the field and profitability for the Steel Division.
The Field Operations Manager reports to the Steel Group Division Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support implementation of safety programs and Woodwards company safety policy in the field.
Maintains relationships between Woodward Operations group and Woodward Steel group to include steel fabricators temporary labor providers and metal building manufacturers.
Ability to perform job duties by following WDBs core values (Reliability Courage Teamwork Determination and Humility).
The ability to think solves problems create new ideas make improvements and manage multiple issues at one time.
Maintain high integrity & ethics and expect the same of subordinates. Perform with honesty reliability dependability and loyalty.
Identify employee needs for training field employees and have those discussions with the Steel Group Division Manager.
Coordinate projects and manpower with Iron Worker Foremen and may have to fill in as a Foreman on projects at times.
Assist the Office Manager in reviewing cost reports on all current projects.
Coordinates work needed to be performed between Steel Group and Sheet Metal Group on projects.
Review estimates with Estimator and Office Manager on individual projects. Assist in checking estimates for labor hours crew size and project duration prior to turning in final quotations. Assist in making sure that the proper equipment is included in the estimate for a project.
Maintain relationships between WDB/WSG steel fabricators temporary labor providers & metal building manufacturer(s).
Maintain all AISC Certification paperwork is in order and up to date for routine audits. Hiring terminating and evaluating all Field Personnel.
Verify that field inspections and quality control reports are being performed by independent sources and take corrective measures when deficiencies occur.
Discusses shipping and erection sequences with fabricators and field personnel to manage the coordination process.
The Field Operations Manager will create a system to track and analyze labor units to include fabricator back charges are processed timely to allow for maximum return for Woodwards Steel Group.
Execute the Quality Control Plan. Make suggestions to improve the plan to increase the quality of the departments work.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHINCAL SKILLS:
The Field Operations Manager must have the ability to solve problems create new ideas make improvements and manage multiple issues at one time.
Make decisions based on sound logic. Always be cognizant of the ramifications of the financial decisions made for the division and Woodward.
Have the internal motivation to sustain long productive workdays and weekends when required.
Strong communication skills.
The Field Operations Manager must understand blueprints welding PEMB drawings project location structuring and PROCORE.
Must have a clear understanding of scheduling and filling out daily reports.
