Job Description

Highland Family Medicine is seeking FNP Residents for its 2025 class. Candidates for this role would work a 1year FNP residency with our Highland Family Medicine team. This cohort will begin their residencies the first week of September 1 2025 and will run through August 31 2026. Chance to stay on as a permanent FNP after residency is a possibility.

For considerations applicants will need to provide the following:
Rural Track at TCFM
4 weeks of total time off including vacation and conferences.

Estimated start 9/1/25; End date 8/31/26

No call responsibilities

Travel:
Several specialty rotations and Core training is in the Rochester Area; however we have many in the Southern Tier additionally travel to Brockport or Canandaiguamay be required.

Travel reimbursement is available for eligible travel expenses.

Some duties include but are not limited to:
NP resident provides direct patient care to patients throughout the lifespan during precepted continuity clinics. Provides care according to professional Nurse Practitioner and community standards for advanced clinical practice utilizing clinical practice and Family Medicine guidelines protocols and procedures. Patient care guided by state and federal laws DEA regulations and the New York State Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act.

Participates in structured postgraduate residency training sessions to include rotations through specialty clinics weekly formal learning sessions on a variety of complex clinical challenges chronic
disease management interprofessional projects focused on population health didactic training in leadership and participation in team quality improvement (QI) cycles to improve health system processes.

Salary Range:

$82430.00 annually
*Grant Funded


The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the jobs compensation range and will be determined by considering factors including but not limited to market data education experience qualifications expertise of the individual and internal equity considerations.


1. Education: Fulfills the educational requirements to be a licensed FNP
2. Experience: 35 years of experience as a registered nurse prior to completing a Masters program is desired.
3. License/Certification Required: Meets the requirement to be a licensed nurse practitioner in the State of New York for specialty practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner with full prescriptive privileges. Active registration by the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency to prescribe Category II through V . National certification in Family Practice preferred from a national organization such as but not limited to the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Nurses Association or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Must be BLS certified.
