Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Network Security Specialist to support the SOC/NOC team. This role combines network management expertise with a focus on security operations. The successful candidate will oversee firewall management network troubleshooting and incident response with a specific emphasis on FortiGate firewall systems and related network technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy manage troubleshoot complex network environment from scratch
- Manage and maintain FortiGate firewalls including configuration updates and optimization.
- Monitor network traffic and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure system efficiency.
- Respond to security incidents collaborating with the SOC team to mitigate threats.
- Respond to network incidents in timely manner to maintain high SLA.
- Conduct network assessments and recommend improvements to bolster security posture.
- Implement and manage high availability (HA) protocols and network configurations.
- Analyze and resolve issues related to network protocols (e.g. BGP OSPF DNS DHCP)
- Establish and troubleshoot network tunneling protocols like IPSec and SSLVPN.
- Document network configurations and security processes for internal use.
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members and crossfunctional teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in network security and management including firewall administration.
- Expertise with FortiGate firewalls and NGFW systems.
- Proficiency in network protocols and tools including SNMP Syslog and packet analysis tools (e.g. Wireshark).
- Experience with Layer 2/3 technologies and highavailability setups.
- Knowledge of network automation and SDN is a plus.
- Certifications such as CCNP Security Fortinet NSE 4 (or higher) are preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
The US base salary range for this fulltime position is $94100 $121800. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits including medical dental vision life and disability insurance 401(k) 11 paid holidays vacation time and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.
Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market job type and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidates subject knowledge skill level qualifications experience and geographic location.
