Class Summary


Job Description
The Compensation Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive job analysis organizational studies and desk audits across various departments within the County. This position will prepare and administer pay plans develop classification specifications and perform other related compensation functions as needed.

Essential Duties
  • Conducts and completes salary survey requests analyzes and compares salary data from a variety of agency and institutional sources and makes appropriate recommendations.
  • Reviews compensations data to evaluate the relative impact on salaries of the performance management program.
  • Conducts and analyzes individual job audits and/or group classification surveys.
  • Prepares position descriptions audit or survey reports and position evaluations and recommends classification actions.
  • Works with the compensation manager processing hires promotions and job classification changes.
  • Consults with managers supervisors and employees on a variety of organizational management compensation and related human resources issues including performance initiatives.
  • Maintains the job classification database and ensures all updates additions and revisions are posted on website.
  • Researches identifies and recommends which classifications occupational groupings departments divisions or sections are to be studied.
  • Identifies benchmarks and converts raw collected job data into comparable metrics as needed to accurately compare jobs that may originally not be exact matches in order to establish a commonality for comparison.
  • Assists and supports the team lead and department leaders with compensation issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule after an initial probationary period and individual approval.
Grade
The grade for this position is C421. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in human resources business administration finance or a closely related field AND
  • Three 3 years of specialized HR experience OR one 1 year of general human resources experience; OR
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • SHRM PHR or CCP certification
  • Three 3 years of related human resources experience or other related compensation experience.

Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the Countys values.

In addition to the executive side of County government certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett they include the Sheriff Tax Commissioner District Attorney Solicitor Probate Court Judge and Chief Magistrate.
