Qualifications Education and Training - High School Diploma or GED required
- OSHA HIPPA Compliance Training
Experience - 1 years experience working as a Medical Scheduler
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with practice management patient registration and scheduling systems
- Bilingual
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Specific - Welcoming patients families and visitors in a friendly courteous and caring manner.
- Performs administrative and general office functions including but not limited to copying filing faxing and data entry.
- Answer telephone calls provides information screens and routes telephone calls to the appropriate person or department.
- Schedule patient appointments followups diagnostic tests and other health related appointments.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Obtain patient authorizations as needed.
- Responsible for the Patient Check In process to include:
- Obtaining or verifying and updating patient demographic information
- Insurance information in the PM system
- Obtain patient consent for treatment
- Responsible for Patient Check Out process to include:
- Collect patient payments including copayments deductibles coinsurance and any outstanding patient due balance amounts.
- Provide patient receipts
- End of the day reconciliation process may be responsible for balancing and reporting daily receipts
- Documents in PM System.
- May be responsible for chart prep of scheduled appointments.
- Utilizes interpersonal skills to optimize medical practice satisfaction rate by effectively and carefully communicating with patients and providers.
- Understand and follow applicable Federal and Florida State laws and regulations professional standards and ethical principles related to patient HIPPA Privacy and Security.
General - Serve as a brand representative for FPA by embracing the Company culture and mission statement core values and standard of conduct.
