Job Description

A respected Catholic School in Richmond seeks a creative and innovative Design and Technology Teacher for a parttime permanent position. We are looking for an inspiring educator who can foster students design thinking practical skills and understanding of technological processes within a valuesbased learning environment.

  • About Our Learning Community: Our school provides a supportive and faithbased learning environment rooted in Catholic principles. The Design and Technology department has modern workshops catering to a range of specialisms and emphasizes ethical considerations in design.

  • About the Role:

    • Deliver engaging and challenging Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 potentially specializing in areas such as product design engineering or food technology based on your expertise.
    • Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that encourage students to explore design briefs experiment with materials and utilize modern manufacturing techniques with a focus on sustainable and ethical design practices.
    • Assess student progress through project work design portfolios and practical assessments providing detailed and constructive feedback.
    • Contribute to extracurricular design clubs and competitions potentially incorporating projects with a social or ethical dimension.
  • Ideal Candidate:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Design and Technology or a related field.
    • A strong understanding of design principles manufacturing processes and current technologies relevant to your specialism.
    • Proficiency in relevant software and experience with workshop equipment.
    • Excellent communication organizational and problemsolving skills.
    • A commitment to the schools Catholic ethos and values with an awareness of the ethical implications of design and technology.
