Our Client is looking for a Science Teacher to work within a Good mixed faith school in Derby. The successful Science Teacher will be expected to teach at KS3 & KS4. The department is well resourced and boasts and approachable and supportive head of department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful department. The school is happy to receive applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs in addition to overseas teachers with a formal teaching qualification and QTS. We are seeking a dynamic and committed Science Teacher to join our energetic educational community in Derby. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sciences a dedication to fostering a stimulating learning environment and a strong desire to help students achieve their academic potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive science lessons across various scientific disciplines including Biology Chemistry and Physics to students of different age groups and abilities.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that meets national standards and inspires a love for scientific inquiry and discovery.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students helping them to enhance their understanding and confidence in science.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and a passion for learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices participate in professional development and contribute to the overall success of the school.
- Organize and participate in extracurricular activities such as science clubs field trips and science fairs to enrich the students educational experience.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents guardians and the wider school community.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in a Sciencerelated field (e.g. Biology Chemistry Physics).
- A teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE QTS or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching science at secondary school level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their academic and personal goals.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
