Job Summary
Reporting to the Corporate Quality Assurance Lead the Quality Assurance Engineer is a motivated selfstarter that can work autonomously and look for every opportunity to support product engineering and supply chain management to ensure that Quality standards are met in all aspects of our products both hardware and software.
Work Location: Inperson (This role does not qualify for remote work opportunities.
City: Surrey
Type: fulltime Permanent
Salary: $69000 $75000 CAD
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
Duties and responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Develop and implement Quality Assurance programs and procedures to assure conformance of manufactured assemblies and finished products.
- Employ effective problemsolving methodologies to identify root causes and implement their corresponding corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive the of Quality initiatives in collaboration with other teams.
- Lead root cause investigation and resolution of development related Customer and Supplier Quality issues in alignment with the Production Quality Assurance Engineer.
- Participate in Supplier qualification approval and evaluation.
- Participate in mechanical part approval process and approvals of Golden Samples
- Use statistical methods to analyze data
- Own and drive regular meetings to review decide and follow up on the actions for Quality issues.
- Coordinate joint containment activities to ensure proper segregation of nonconforming product from unintended use.
- Facilitate and/or participate in continual improvement projects
- Cross coverage assistance with raw material inspections and product audits and other interdepartmental activities as needed
- Participate in Environmental Sustainability initiatives in alignment with ISO14001 and other directives
Required skills and abilities
- Strong technical skills including electronics and electromechanical principles
- Experience in the application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience with FMEA and DFMEA
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Controls (SPC) and implementation.
- Knowledge and comprehension of quality management systems measuring techniques tools and equipment within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with PCB manufacturing
- Experience in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

- Understanding of hardware and software development.
- Ability to clearly express complex ideas verbally and in writing to leadership members
- Capable of working with minimal supervision; demonstrates initiative and selfdirection
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelors degree (preferred) or equivalent education training and/or experience.
- 6 years of handson Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Certified Quality Engineer is an asset
- Must be eligible to work full time in Canada
