Job Description
SGS is seeking enthusiastic casual staff to be trained as an Assistant Geotechnicians to conduct destructive and nondestructive testing of construction materials ensuring safe efficient and highquality service for our clients.
This is a casual role and applicants must be based in Kalgoorlie.
Responsibilities are included but not limited to:
- Assist with the initial preparation of samples for testing.
- Perform routine testing.
- Collect and log samples.
- Perform routine calibration and setup of equipment.
- Carry out routine maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and working areas.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed.
- Correlate test data for evaluation by a higher classified person.
- Prepare data to be reported by senior staff.
- Contribute to team discussions in relation to the continuous improvement and efficiency of the laboratory.
- Perform other duties as required in the laboratory.
Qualifications :
To be successful for this role you will have:
- WA C Class Drivers Licence
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks as well as computer based work
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
- Good grasp of numbering and ordering
- Applicants must be based in Kalgoorlie.
