Job Description

A leading Independent School in Ealing seeks a creative and innovative Design Technology Teacher to join our wellresourced department. We are looking for an inspiring educator who can foster students design thinking practical skills and understanding of technological processes.

  • About Our Learning Community: Our school provides a stimulating and academically rich environment with a strong commitment to fostering creativity and innovation. The Design Technology department boasts modern workshops equipped with CAD/CAM facilities 3D printers and a wide range of materials.
  • About the Role:
    • Deliver engaging and challenging Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 covering areas such as product design resistant materials electronics and computeraided design.
    • Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that encourage students to explore design briefs experiment with materials and utilize modern manufacturing techniques.
    • Assess student progress through project work design portfolios and practical assessments providing detailed and constructive feedback.
    • Contribute to the development of the design technology curriculum and participate in extracurricular design clubs and competitions.
  • Ideal Candidate:
    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Design Technology or a related field.
    • A strong understanding of design principles manufacturing processes and current technologies.
    • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and experience with workshop equipment.
    • Excellent communication organizational and problemsolving skills.
    • A passion for inspiring students to become creative and innovative designers.
