Job Description
Job Description: Fleet Mechanic
Location: Roanoke IN
Number of Openings: 2
Salary: Hourly $
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical malfunctions in a timely and effective manner.
- Keep accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations when working on vehicles.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
- Provide support to other team members and assist in training junior mechanics.
- Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the garage or workshop.
- Respond to emergency repair requests as needed.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience as a mechanic particularly in a fleet maintenance environment is preferred.
- Experience with electronic vehicle systems and advanced diagnostics is a plus.
- Familiarity with a variety of vehicle makes and models including trucks and vans.
