Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Security Installation Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing maintaining and troubleshooting security devices and cabling systems in commercial buildings. This role requires a combination of technical skills problemsolving abilities and an understanding of security and low voltage systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Install configure and test a variety of security devices including but not limited to CCTV cameras access control systems intrusion detection systems and intercoms.
Route install and terminate low voltage cabling (e.g. Cat5e Cat6 and coaxial cables) to support security devices.
Perform site assessments to determine optimal equipment placement and cable routing.
Collaborate with project managers contractors and other trade professionals to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
Conduct system tests to verify proper installation and operation of equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to security devices and cabling.
Maintain accurate project documentation and update asbuilt plans as needed.
Follow industry best practices and comply with all safety standards and building codes.
Provide client support and training on the use of installed security systems as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications related to low voltage or security systems (e.g. BICSI NICET or manufacturerspecific training) are highly desirable.
At least 23 years of experience in the installation of security systems and low voltage cabling in commercial environments.
Familiarity with security device brands such as Hikvision Axis Bosch Honeywell etc.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints schematics and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of structured cabling standards and techniques.
Ability to use hand tools cable testers and other relevant installation equipment.
Excellent problemsolving skills and a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of IP networking and basic configurations for security devices.
Experience working with fire alarm integration and emergency response systems.
Strong communication skills for customer interactions and reporting.
