The role includes working with large transformer components ensuring their proper installation and quality standards and ensuring that the finished assembly meets safety and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble transformer cores by stacking silicon steel laminations in a precise and orderly manner.
- Ensure proper alignment and positioning of core laminations to minimize energy losses.
- Use tools and machines to cut shape and assemble the core steel according to design specifications.
- Perform core testing such as shortcircuit and opencircuit tests to verify performance.
- Wind and assemble coils using copper or aluminum conductors as per transformer specifications.
- Work with winding machines or manually wind coils around a bobbin or form ensuring consistent tension and uniform winding.
- Insulate and layer the coils as needed applying the correct type of insulation material and ensuring uniform insulation thickness.
- Position coil windings correctly on the core to ensure proper operation of the transformer.
- Combine the core and coil components ensuring proper alignment and secure placement.
- Install the coil into the transformer tank or housing ensuring all components fit and are correctly aligned.
- Perform necessary tightening clamping and insulation procedures for safe and efficient transformer operation.
- Conduct mechanical and electrical tests on the assembled core and coil to ensure they meet quality and operational standards.
- Inspect materials and components for defects and ensure that all assembly and safety standards are met.
- Perform leak tests insulation resistance testing and other quality checks as part of the final assembly process.
