Job Description
Position Summary: The primary function of this position is to oversee monitor and facilitate training for production and packaging operations employees. These functions include providing direction guidance and assistance to operators/general labor administering supplies and materials documenting line assignments training progress crosstraining matrix and other paperwork per company requirements assigning and providing coverage for all line positions maintaining an efficient flow of the production process and ensure all Safety and Good Manufacturing Procedures are understood and adhered to.
Pay Rate: $18.30 $0.25 shift premium
Hours: 3:00pm 11:30pm
Position Responsibilities
- Teach new employees work tasks and techniques. Review job descriptions and/or safety documents related to production positions. Inform supervisor of daily progress of employees as required. Provide training for new hires/transfers and ongoing remedial or updated training for existing employees as required.
- Monitor and facilitate production and packaging operations to maintain the efficient flow of the process to meet production rates. Provide coverage for temporary vacancies on the lines. Check product to ensure that product meets all specifications and guidelines including product specifications metal detector checks net weights and other quality attributes.
- Conduct plant tours for new employees facilitate and/or assist with new hire trainings (including GMP safety and general topics).
- Administer supplies ensuring correct materials and quantities are delivered to the appropriate area and/or removed as scheduled.
- Provide direction guidance assistance and fillin for the productions line operators as required.
- Ensure changeovers runoffs and setups are performed as outlined in the SOP.
- Ensure the work area is clear and clean monitor cleaning and the daily equipment maintenance and ensure trash is placed in the proper receptacles. Oversee and assist with breakdown and cleaning of production line at midshift or when necessary.
- Obtain work schedule obtain production schedule for assigned line set employee schedule and prepare for operations.
- Troubles production problems make minor repairs and adjustments and assist maintenance with other repairs.
- At end of shift secure all equipment perform general housekeeping duties and complete all required paperwork.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
General Job Requirements
- Able to work safely and set an example of safe working habits for his/her coworkers
- Ability to understand and perform the various tasks to standards established for the department
- Ability to meet the physical requirements; lifting 40llbs climbing ladders and stairs standing for prolonged periods
- Ability to read written instructions and communicate verbally in English with management and hourly employees; bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
- Knowledge of basic mathematical skills
- Work experience specific to the department preferred
- Must have a good employment record
- Must be able to understand and follow all written SSOPs
- Must be able to understand MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets)
- Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position
- Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to give instructions and followup with hourly employees
