Job Description

2nd Shift Machine Shop Supervisor

Elgin IL (Onsite)
$35.00$40.00 per hour
Schedule: MondayFriday 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
Experience: 3 Years in CNC Programming & Supervision

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and handson 2nd Shift Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily operations in a highpaced CNC environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in CNC programming and machining who also excels at mentoring a team and driving productivity and quality on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daytoday activities of the machine shop during 2nd shift.

  • Develop team members on best practices for machining operations setup and production efficiency.

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes as needed to support production goals.

  • Ensure optimal utilization of resources machine scheduling and output quality.

  • Collaborate with the engineering and programming teams to improve part manufacturability and workflow.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and assist in troubleshooting machining challenges.

  • Maintain and enforce safety standards throughout the shop.

  • Provide handson leadership by coaching training and supporting machinists and operators.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in CNC machining preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of CNC programming experience ideally using FeatureCam.

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machinery (mills and lathes) and Fanuc controls.

  • Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical/technical drawings.

  • Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills.

  • Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs and work as part of a team.

  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
