Job Description
Regions Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider with experience in the orthopedic surgery and clinic environment to join our Ortho team. The Advanced Practice Provider in Orthopedic Services is responsible for the coordination of care of orthopedic patients. In the operating room and on the nursing units the position will first assist the surgeon by preparing grafts closing the incision and first and second assisting the surgeon as needed.
On the inpatient nursing unit this position will coordinate the patients care and assist the surgeon in directing the post operative nursing care for these patients. The major functions in this environment consist of patient assessment writing medication and treatment orders and performing or directing specific tasks. Daily and rotating inpatient weekend rounding and/or call is expected in this position. Per Diem APP Ortho positions are required to work at least 1 weekend per quarter or as determined by Ortho department.

1.0 FTE
MF; occasional weekends
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the State of Minnesota.
- Physician Assistant Certification required OR Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of MN. Current Nurse Practitioner Certification required. BLS or ACLS certification required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer 12 years experience in the orthopedic surgery and clinic environment which includes First Assisting and seeing patients independently.
