- Clearance Requirements: Tier 1 Background Investigation National Agency Check with Law and Credit Check and fingerprints. (Standard Form 85.
- Estimated Compensation: $56.00 69.00/hr
- Type of Employment: Part Time 2days (eight 8 hours per scheduled day) a month.
- Period of Performance: 01 October 2025 30 September 2030.
- Travel: Travel is authorized
- Relationship: 1099 Independent Contractor.
Working Hours
The schedule will normally consist of sixteen 16 sessions (eight 8 hours per scheduled day) inside the Health Services Department at FCI Loretto per month except for twentyfour 24 sessions /month (eight 8 hours per scheduled day) for the months of March June and December. Each scheduled day will consist of the evaluation of twenty 20 to twentyfive 25 inmates with occasional chart review for patient treatment recommendations. A visit may be canceled at the convenience of the government due to lack of patient workload or other scheduling conflicts. The contractor will be notified at a minimum of 48 hours in advance.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Must have a Doctor of Optometry degree from an educational program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) at the time the degree was obtained.
- Applicants must have received a passing score on the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) examinations and possess a current full and unrestricted license to practice optometry in a State the District of Columbia the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications and experience include:
- Experience in providing healthcare in a correctional setting
- Additional professional education and certifications
Attire
The contract employee is expected to wear professional clothing that is appropriate to the correctional environment while on duty; business attire or scrubtype uniforms are approved. No articles of clothing worn by the contract employee will be of a khaki tan khaki green tan dark green gray orange or camouflage color or pattern. Footwear will be closedtoe flatbottom and completely cover the feet; fluid resistance and nonslip soles are preferred. Protective vests will be supplied by the institution.

- Adhere to all standards and regulations associated with The Joint Commission (JC) and American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions
