Job Description
The candidate for this position will work as a member of a small team to perform scaleup/scaledown development of therapeutic biologics with strong emphasis on API proteins within the LargeScale Development & Operations downstream (DSP) group in Malvern PA. The candidates primary responsibilities will include a component of pilotscale DSP operations DSP data acquisition and modeling and optimizing the process steps to be representative of the target process scale to ensure right first time technical transfers.
This will include:
- Pilotscale and occasional laboratory work with chromatographic purification and several types of filtration systems
- Record and analyze data verify data integrity and accuracy and report/summarize findings to the project development teams
- Design experiments to optimize DSP operations within the LargeScale Development & Operations DSP group to ensure that they are representative of internal and external manufacturing sites
- Draft technical documents SOPs and work instructions
- Work in a team environment as well as contributing individually to meet project timelines and objectives
Qualifications :
- Minimum of BS in scientific related discipline is required.
- Knowledge of and handson experience with DSP purification (chromatography filtration) of protein therapeutics (such as antibodies) is required.
- Experience with scaleup/down of DSP and/or at pilot or manufacturing scales for biologics manufacture is preferred.
- Exposure to analytical method development for inprocess methods is preferred.
- The candidate must be highly organized and capable of managing/pursuing multiple projects with some supervision.
- Experience maintaining written records of work in the form of (electronic) notebooks technical reports and protocols is preferred.
- Data reporting ability to present findings to management and experience with teambased collaborations is required.
