Job Description
Deliverables:
The Resources will act as a subject matter expert on a variety of Mainframe network maintenance and Mainframe hardware replacement and migration activities such as:
- Enabling and supporting the day to day operations of the Government of Ontarios Mainframe networks.
- Planning configuring network components for the Z16 & New DR Colo Mainframe processor installation.
- Support the complex migration of existing networks from GDC to COlo onto the new Mainframe supporting the migration of existing GDC mainframe and decommissioning of network software configurations and hardware as well as supporting the existing Applications hosted on the existing Mainframe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Support for sustaining the day to day operations of Mainframe network.
- Plan configure and support installation of new Mainframe hardware platform.
- Provide migration support for Mainframe networking components.
- Provide decommissioning support for Mainframe Network applications.
- Daily operational changes Incident/problem management.
- Provide on call/standby support when required.
- Closure of tickets in a timely manner Keeping clients/management up to date on ticket status.
- Must adhere to Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics device maintenance.
- Providing technical MoP for all changes.
- ability to provide acquire network captures and articulate/document capture and point or root cause.
- Ability to work on Mainframe Hardware Refresh Project activities along with all keep the lights on (KTLO) activities.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements:
Must Haves:
- TCP/IP VTAM NNM NDM ATTLS between clients/servers/M.F. VPSPRINT Deliver and TN3270. Daily operational changes Incident/problem management.
- Provide on call/standby support when required.
- Closure of tickets in a timely manner Keeping clients/management up to date on ticket status.
- Strong conceptual and practical understanding of Mainframe Networking Building new infrastructure with automation as per design criteria.
- Provide intake and incident resolution Integration of services such as identity logging and monitoring.
- Provide reports as required.
- Provide skills and knowledge transfer.
- Provide solution status on various project being worked on.
- Demonstration of leading projects and initiatives end to end (technical and nontechnical.
Skill Set Requirements:
Technology Experience:

Knowledge/skills in Analysis and ProblemSolving:
- Ability to work on Mainframe hardware refresh Project Initiatives along with all KTLO and modernization activities. Daily usage of all local Mainframe Network Tools to provide proactive support (TCP/IP NNM NDM VTAM Netview).
Experience knowledge with Mainframe Network in a support role:
- Demonstrated knowledge and operational support experience with Mainframe Network in a large scale environment similar as the Government of Ontario.
