Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
The Field Service Engineer will:
- Install commission and maintain new packaging lines ensuring they meet agreed specifications
- Conduct site acceptance tests and troubleshoot equipment issues across the entire range of secondary packaging equipment
- Provide customer training on routine maintenance and operation of Syntegon Packaging equipment
- Training customer in routine maintenance and operation of Syntegon Packaging equipment.
- Resolve electrical mechanical and software issues identifying root causes and liaising with the engineering team when necessary
- Manage customer expectations and provide detailed reporting following site visits
- Support product trials and work to tight timescales to minimise downtime
- Engage in ongoing product training to maintain uptodate knowledge of Syntegon equipment
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Experience in field service preferably in packaging engineering
- Qualifications in Mechatronics mechanical or electrical engineering
- Understanding of FMCG & GMP manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in electrical mechanical and software engineering including:
- Modern and legacy control systems
- Highspeed packaging machine adjustment and optimisation
- PLC theory and implementation (e.g. RsLogix Simatic Step7
Knowledge and Skills:
- Commercial awareness. Being able to spot opportunities confidence to talk to the customer about products we can offer before reporting to sales.
- An understanding of a highlevel of customer service
- Ability to prioritise and work to challenging deadlines
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work remotely with time away from home
- Full driving license
