Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Develop and implement relevant campaigns to deal with issues (e.g. safety production etc.
- Facilitate effective management of Divisional issues
- Compile site publications and provide input and support with the Platinumowned community newspaper
- Ensure digital channels particularly Engage is regularly updated and provide relevant and accurate content (e.g. signage PPE document templates merchandise etc.
- Ensure all other communications channels are regularly updated and provide relevant information (e.g. screens noticeboards etc) scorecard.
- Provide support with the conducting of key company employee engagements. Eg. Surveys global safety day womens month results CEO staff briefings youth month 16 days of activism culture in action etc
- Partner with Corporate Communications to support Platinum and Group initiatives
- Gather prepare and gain approval of content for our channels such as Engage newsletters community newspapers Eureka website etc.
- Active engagement across the operation to identify communications opportunities
- Assist with the development and implementation of communication campaigns
- Provide public relations services to the operation in partnership with corporate communications
- Organise site visits in liaison with public relations office
- Organize site and special events
- In conjunction with the operation and Corporate Communications department plans and implements research to validate effectiveness of communication strategies e.g. devising and administering questionnaires workplace visits monitoring workplace behaviour etc.
- Provide advice and implement of best practice systems and align local systems to the corporate strategy
- Constantly review development in the field to ensure effectiveness and alignment of system and procedures to best practice.
- Ensure that systems and procedures are used to the full by stakeholders by regularly auditing usage and application
- Advise management on the most appropriate course of action when decision relates to communication.
- Provide advice and interpretation to relevant stakeholders
- Provide regular information to all stakeholders
- Ensures briefs are distributed to appropriate level
- Identifies issues for onsite briefing for target audience/s monitors distribution collates and obtains answers to employee queries arising from the brief and ensure feedback.
- Support the induction of new employees
- Identify potential conflict situations and minimize the implications
- Assist various units communicate their objectives
- Identify risk areas and communicate to management
Sustainability & Social
- Execute the delivery of the sustainability activities as relevant to discipline and set out in the Life of Asset Plan to improve sustainability performance over time
- Comply with environmental and social requirements as relevant to discipline
- Implement environmental and social risk mitigation techniques as specified in the asset risk management approach as relevant to discipline
- Implement sustainability initiatives relevant for work area and report on progress
- Act consistently with sustainability expectations
Qualifications :
- Degree / Diploma in Communications Journalism.
Experience
- At least three years experience in the communication field
- Valid driving license
Technical knowledge:
- Operations: Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role
- Commercial: Basic financial metrics cost and value management & budgeting tools
- Management: Risk management techniques and critical controls
- Compliance: Safety health and environment legislative statutory regulatory and permitting requirements.
