Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for designing and executing in vivo studies in the fields of infectious diseases and vaccines. The job will involve work including:
- Designing & implementing animal models of pathogenic infection models in mice and vaccine immunigenicity studies in various animal species.
- Handson of in vivo studies involving infection monitoring viremia monitoring immune response and tissue collection.
- Proficiency in preparation and dosing of agents via multiple routes of administration (including IM PO IP SC IN and IV).
- Evaluation and implementation of novel in vivo techniques and technologies.
- Detailed record keeping of all experimental information in electronic lab notebooks.
Qualifications :
Basic Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelors/Masters degree in biological sciences toxicology or a related field.
- Knowledge of cGMPs and experience working in a GMP environment.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
The ideal candidate would possess :
- Strong computer scientific and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team selfmotivation adaptability and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques perform multiple tasks simultaneously keep accurate records follow instructions and comply with company policies
- Experience working on Biologics Release Testing in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Experience with rodent handling and injections via the intraperitoneal (IP) and intracranial (IC) routes intramuscular (IM) intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SQ) routes of administration observations.
- Experience with rodent observations of physical signs differentiating and understanding normal rodent behavior and behavior induced due to compound effect.
- Experience with gross examinations and necropsy.
Additional Information :
This position is FullTime Monday Friday 8 a.m. 5:00 p.m. with overtime as needed and the potential for some off shift hours as dependent on project. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of West Point PA are encouraged to apply.
