Job Description
The Pollution Control/Safety Officer will be responsible for enforcing and managing environmental and safety protocols ensuring adherence to national and local regulations and minimizing the environmental impact of commissary operations. This includes monitoring pollution levels overseeing waste disposal conducting safety audits and fostering a culture of health and safety throughout the company. The role is essential in maintaining a safe and sustainable work environment for all employees and ensuring the company meets all environmental compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science Occupational Health & Safety Industrial Hygiene or a related field is preferred.
- 35 years of experience in environmental health and safety pollution control or a similar role ideally within the food production or manufacturing industry.
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) or Environmental Professional (CEP) are advantageous.Experience with environmental compliance and pollution control systems specific to food production including waste management air and water quality and chemical safety is required.
