Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detailoriented EntryLevel Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Roanoke Virginia. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their career in civil engineering and contribute to exciting projects in our community.
- Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects under the supervision of experienced engineers.
- Conduct site visits and collect field data for analysis and project planning.
- Perform engineering calculations and create design drawings using CAD software.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute ideas to improve design efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for project submissions.
- Support senior engineers in project management tasks and client communications.
- Stay updated on industry trends regulations and best practices in civil engineering.
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and project schedules.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies within the team.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Very Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Word Excel PowerPoint).
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or ability to take in the next 6 months.
- Some experience with AutoCAD MicroStation and other civil engineeringrelated software (Civil 3D OpenRoads).
- Previous work experience or internship with engineering firms contractors or DOTs involved in highway design construction management or other transportationrelated projects.
- Valid U.S. Drivers License preferred to visit project sites clients and other AECOM offices when public transportation is not available.
