The Center for Career Development is dedicated to helping students make connections between their academic experiences and professional paths. We empower students in their career journeys by providing comprehensive resources guidance and support. Our aim is to assist students and alumni to explore career options developing essential skills and navigating the job market effectively. Through personalized counseling workshops networking opportunities and access to relevant tools and information we strive to foster confidence resilience and success in every stage of career development.
The Career Coach is responsible for providing career development support leading to successful career outcomes for undergraduate students and alumni at The New School. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Career Development within the Center for Career Development the Career Coach conducts personalized career coaching sessions with undergraduate students to assess their interests skills and career goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Engagement and Programming
Meet with a cohort of students from liberal arts and social science fields to oneonone to provide career engagement and career education and guidance on particularly as it relates to the development of industry appropriate hiring materials.
Create resources (digital print promotional) and lead workshops and events on careerrelated topics designed to create career ready undergraduate students.
Employer Engagement
Assist employers with online recruiting system; field questions from employers regarding their registration in online recruiting system job listings and information sessions.
Work with Director in implementing mechanisms to increase student participation in internships and other experiential activities for graduate students.
Work with Director to identify and strategize potential employers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated intercultural competence; and a continuing commitment to advance equity inclusion and social justice practices in support of a diverse community.
Bachelors Degree and minimum 2 years related experience in a diversity/equity/inclusion/social justice higher education setting career services employer relations or higher education.
Superior demonstrated interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
Ability to navigate and utilize software databases and systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite Google Docs; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign).
Some nights and weekends required.
Experience working with undergraduate students and knowledge of characteristics of undergraduate education and developmental needs.
Experience working with undergraduate students in the design and creative fields.
Proven ability to work independently while functioning as a team member fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Career Management systems (Handshake etc..
Industryspecific training or knowledge of one or more of the following: education nonprofit and advocacy government media and technology health care and public health business and consulting arts and culture.
WORK MODE
Hybrid/Split Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 14x/week) and also work some of the time remotely.#LIHYBRID
