Job Description
Position performs echocardiogram testing per physician order adhering to established departmental policy and procedure. Incumbent uses and maintains equipment per departmental policy and procedure to ensure test quality patient safety and to prevent downtime interference with service provision. The position complieswith Augusta Health and departmental policies and procedures including employees handbook safety guidelines quality improvement and infection control in accordance with organizational vision and philosophy. Incumbent annually reviews policy and procedure for fire/safety code blue disaster and hazardous materials to assure safety of coworkers patients family/significant other and self in the noninvasive vascular lab environment.
Requirements
- Must have completed an accredited cardiac sonographer program
- RDCS or RCS or the ability to obtain registry within 12 months of employment from an accredited sonography program
- BLS required
