JOB DESCRIPTION
FULL TIME
The Oral Roberts University School of Liberal Arts invites applications for a fulltime faculty position as coordinator of our composition program beginning August 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties of the position include but are not limited to: overseeing our freshman and junior year composition courses including syllabi and textbook updates; working collaboratively with English/writing faculty to develop implement and assess curricula; training supervising and evaluating new instructors; and teaching approximately 9 credit hours per semester.
In addition to teaching assigned courses fulltime faculty members are expected to attend chapel services and academic meetings serve on academic committees support student activities and hold office hours for mentoring and advisement.
REQUIREMENTS
- While a PhD is preferred candidates must have a minimum of an M.A. in Composition/Rhetoric English Creative Writing or a closely related field and have a commitment to excellent teaching and scholarship.
- The preferred candidate will have expertise in composition pedagogy (including integration of AI) use of technology and multimodal classroom techniques.
- Faculty member will take a leading role in the revision of freshman composition curriculum to incorporate the use of AI and the ORU distinctive of critical Spiritempowered thinking.
