The Young Adult Peer Mentor provides oneonone mentorship and support to youth and young adults facing personal social or academic challenges impacted by their mental health. By sharing personal experiences and offering practical advice the mentor assists mentees in setting goals building selfconfidence and developing skills for personal growth. This role is key in helping young people navigate life transitions overcome obstacles and achieve their potential.


What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference in the Lives of Youth...

  • Establish rapport with mentees to foster open supportive and confidential relationships.
  • Assist mentees with navigating daily challenges including school family social relationships and career planning.
  • Provide information about community resources mental health services educational programs and job opportunities as needed.
  • Keep records of interactions and progress respecting confidentiality but ensuring accountability.

Requirements

High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Test preferred

Personal lived experience with mental health
