The Lead Teacher will provide supervision and support to onsite Special Education Teachers working in our Devereux Day Academy in Landenberg PA. This position is Full Time 41 week 10 month) position following the school schedule at Devereux Day Academy Landenberg.
Every day as a Lead Teacher you will:
- Ensure student safety
- Provide support guidance and feedback to teachers
- Guide and support teachers with the development of IEPs and classroom management skills
- Support the overall professional development of the teachers by implementing training coaching and professional development
You will be offered:
Salary: $58885.05 $67128.96 (based on years of experience)
Shift: MondayFriday 8am4pm 41 week School Year

Devereuxs Approved Private Schools offer high quality innovative special education programs that work in tandem with families and school districts to ensure that students can return to their local schools and communities with the tools they will need to succeed. Children and young adults may come to Devereux as a day student or as a part of residential treatment. Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) which outlines goals for skill development and the best strategies by which the student can reach his/her goals. A multidisciplinary team including the individuals parent(s) or guardian regularly reviews the plan to discuss challenges progress and adjustments to goals as appropriate. The Deveruex Day Academylocated in Landenberg PA offers education curriculum to children functioning at all grade levels. A multisensory educational strategy is used at all schools employing traditional instruction handson and independent learning as well as technology to individualize a students progress in all academic areas particularly math and reading. The transition from school to career and all of the necessary interrelated skills are a main focus of the school program.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: PDE special education certification required masters degree preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
EXPERIENCE: Successful teaching experience working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges experience in unit and lesson planning experience in writing and implementing legally defensible IEPs experiencing in administration of assessments and using data informed decision making. One year of experience preferred.
