You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThis role will use the states workforce evaluation system and labor market data to evaluate workforce development gaps identify emerging green industries and support the development of policy recommendations expanding Arizonas green workforce.
The Research Specialist will function as the lead for the Powering Climate & Infrastructure Careers Challenge (PCICC) project including the development of predictive models analysis of workforce program effectiveness and making recommendations via reports based on analytic findings.
In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined above the Research Specialist will assist with related projects on the workforce evaluation system including reporting assignments website updates and ad hoc analytic requests made by the Primary Investigator.
This position is available for remote work on a fulltime basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements).
Perform exploratory data analysis to identify emerging and indemand green industries based on wage industry classification and workforcedevelopment program data
Assess existing workforce training programs providing insights into emerging trends completion rates industry placement skill demands and wages within green energy sectors
Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to improve program accessibility and effectiveness for underserved communities
Evaluate regional green job opportunities and workforce development gaps to support targeted investments into Arizonas green economy
Collaborate with state agencies and local organizations to integrate analytics into workforce development plans
Develop and publish reports to share and explain findings
Knowledge:
Analytic thinking including the ability to apply standard research methodologies applied statistics and use of data manipulation techniques
Obtained a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in economics statistics or a related field
Minimum of three years of experience performing analytic work
Working knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform and products
Working knowledge of workforce programs
Skills:
Excellent data analysis and visualization skills
Excellent written and oral communication
Strong problemsolving skills
Abilities:
Ability to collaborate with others and present complex analytic concepts and findings to diverse stakeholders
Can expertly use data analysis and management software such as Python R or SAS
The position requires a criminal background (fingerprint) check in accordance with A.A.C. R25A303
Position requires possession of a Fingerprint Clearance Card
