Position Summary

Were looking for Food Runners to join our team at Jerk at Nite! As a Food Runner youll be the vital link between our kitchen and our guests ensuring each dish is delivered quickly accurately and with care. Youll work closely with the expeditor kitchen team and frontofhouse staff to maintain an efficient flow of service and help ensure an exceptional dining experience. If youre fast on your feet detailoriented and love being part of a team this role is for you!

When latenight food options on Howard Universitys campus failed to meet the needs of students pulling allnighters working on projects and attending campus events Jerk at Nite stepped in to fill the gap. We believe that authentic hearty and healthconscious food should be available at any hour not just pizza fast food or takeout loaded with preservatives.

Thats why we serve Jamaicaninfused dishes with an exotic mix of Mexican and American soul food flavors offering a better bolder and healthier latenight alternative. As we continue to grow were looking for Food Runners to help us deliver food that not only tastes great but gets to guests fast and fresh.

Position Responsibilities

PEOPLE: Guest Service & Teamwork

• Greet guests warmly when delivering food to their table

• Communicate clearly with servers kitchen staff and the expeditor to keep orders flowing

• Respond to guest questions or concerns with a positive helpful attitude

• Support frontofhouse team by clearing dishes or running extra items when needed

PRODUCTS: Speed Accuracy & Presentation

• Ensure all food orders are accurate and complete before leaving the kitchen

• Deliver hot and cold items at the correct temperature and with proper garnishes

• Make sure each dish is plated and presented according to brand standards

• Handle food carefully and efficiently to maintain quality

PLACE: Cleanliness & Readiness

• Keep service stations expo line and delivery trays clean and organized

• Assist with side work restocking and light cleaning during and after shifts

• Help maintain a tidy and guestready dining area

PROFIT: Efficiency & Support

• Minimize delays and support the team in reducing guest wait times

• Work quickly and effectively to keep the dining experience flowing

• Alert management or expeditor of any issues with order accuracy timing or presentation

What Were Looking For

Previous experience as a food runner busser or in a fastpaced restaurant setting is a plus
Strong attention to detail and time management
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to stay calm and focused during busy service
Must be able to stand walk and carry food trays for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and navigate a busy dining room safely
Flexible schedule including evenings weekends and holidays
