Key Responsibilities:
- Dispatch Operations: Oversee daily dispatch activities to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
- McLeod Software Utilization: Leverage McLeod software for scheduling routing and optimizing deliveries.
- Driver & Vehicle Assignment: Assign drivers and vehicles to jobs balancing resources efficiently.
- Route Optimization: Collaborate with the planning team to enhance delivery routes for fuel savings and efficiency.
- RealTime Monitoring: Track deliveries and address operational issues proactively.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations including Hours of Service (HOS) and handling of overdimensional freight procedures.
- Customer Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with customers regarding delivery statuses and concerns.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze dispatch operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 57 years of dispatch experience in asset flatbed trucking or logistics; bilingual preferred.
- Software Knowledge: Proficiency in McLeod or similar TMS software as well as MS Outlook Excel and Word.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities for effective interaction with customers drivers and team members.
- Problemsolving: Ability to handle issues proactively and find practical solutions.
- Organizational Skills: Strong multitasking and time management abilities.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with transportation regulations including HOS and safety protocols.
- Education: High school diploma is required; a Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management or a related field is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in fleet management and maintenance scheduling.
- Proficiency in routing tools and optimization strategies.
