Position Title: Programmer Analyst Department: Information Technology

Title of Immediate Supervisor/Leader to Whom This Position Reports: Director of Information Technology

*Expected Daily Work Hours: 8:00am 5:00pm *Expected Weekly Work Schedule: Monday Friday

* College offices are normally open from 8:00 AM until 5:00PM Monday through Friday. However due to the nature of responsibility to the student body individual offices or departments may have operating hours that extend beyond this period and may include evening or weekend hours. Nonexempt employees will normally work 8 hours per day.Overtime (any hours more than 40 per week) for nonexempt employees is required to be approved in advance by the department supervisor. Exempt employees will typically work at least 40 hours per week and such additional time as may be reasonably required to fulfill the obligations of their position description. Such additional work may include evenings and weekends and should be described in this document.

Summary of this position:

The Programmer Analyst will work in a small team at Maryville Colleges IT Department and is responsible for developing testing administering and maintaining new programs and software in congruent with Maryville Colleges goals. The Programmer Analyst will ensure quality performances from the colleges technologies and applications that elevate student support and success. Other duties will include writing coding analyzing and testing.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education required to ensure success in this position:

  • A bachelors degree in coding engineering programing or a related field from an accredited fouryear college or university is required.

Experience required to ensure success in this position:

  • Experience of working in a higher education setting is preferred.

Special skills knowledge and abilities:

  • Programming and scripting languages including Python and PowerShell.
  • Developing and using API web services.
  • Code repository and version control system including Git.
  • Cloud services including MS Azure Google Workspace and Amazon web services.
  • Experience with MS Power Platform and Power Automate
  • Prior experience and knowledge of JavaScript frameworks MS 365 Teams SharePoint HTML5 CSS and ETL procedures.

License certification or registration necessary:

  • None

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds.
  • May be required to lift/move up to 25 pounds 11.3 kilograms)
  • Must be able to stand sit walk and handle objects for intervals of time.

Environmental conditions:

  • Standard professional office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Ability to operate the following vehicles or equipment:

  • Advance computers skills are required.
  • Standard office equipment; computer phone etc.

  • Meeting stakeholders to identify and develop projects.
  • Planning and implementing automation and integration projects.
  • Develop best practices and maintenance procedures for code lifecycles.
  • Staying up to date with new technology and trends.
  • Assisting with support requests as needed.
  • Tests plans for burgeoning policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
