Job Description

Job Title:HR Graduate Assistant for the Office of Student EmploymentDepartment:Human ResourcesStudent Employment Type:Graduate Assistant (Hourly)Responsibilities:
  • Support the Office of Student Employment with the student hiring process for Federal Work NonFederal WorkStudy and graduate student employees
  • Assist students with on campus job search and inquiries by monitoring the Student Employment inbox offering Zoom meetings and walkins.
  • Track students progress and completion of the new hire onboarding tasks process; respond professionally and in a timely manner to all questions from students parents and student employee supervisors
  • Collaborate with hiring managers across university departments to guide them in the job requisition creation and hiring process
  • Assist in facilitating and developing Student Employment Workshops
  • Represent the Office of Student Employment in various university events
  • Learn and utilize applicant tracking system
  • Work closely with the payroll department
  • Assist with Student Employee Appreciation Event planning and other department initiatives
  • Various projects as needed for the Office of Human Resources.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a graduate student or expected to graduate by end of spring 2025 in good standing and enrolled at least parttime at Quinnipiac University
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds while exhibiting a positive caring and helpful attitude
  • Successful applicants will possess professionalism attention to detail ability to multitask and be highly organized
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when required
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects to ensure proper alignment with workload
  • Prior experience with or an interest in Human Resources Organizational Leadership or Business preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to take initiative.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to offcampus HR offices and North Haven campus events.
Hours of Position:
  • 1820hrs per week
  • Must have availability to work Monday through Friday during morning hours
  • This is an inperson role working from our SE Office at the Mt. Carmel campus
